Diversity in classrooms, teaching posts and administrative positions reflects the demographic realities of communities we live in. Equity in education allows diverse others to achieve at high levels and experience social-emotional support, comfort and recognition.


This will require a rise in individual, group and school awareness. Further, diversity is more that appreciation; true diversity requires that teachers, students, parents and administrators acquire the skills necessary to move being mere presence to change.


Structures will be needed to insure equitable distribution of resources, opportunities and accessibility.
